Erin and Dan’s wedding day felt unmistakably Chicago — vibrant, atmospheric, and beautifully unpredictable. With the skyline as their backdrop and the river weaving through the city streets, their celebration embraced the energy and character that make downtown weddings so dynamic.
The morning began with quiet anticipation before the day unfolded into a celebration filled with movement and emotion. After getting ready in the heart of the city, the ceremony took place at St. Peter’s Church, where the atmosphere felt reverent and deeply personal. Experiencing the ceremony from a quieter perspective allowed the emotion of the moment to take center stage.
Rain arrived early, adding an element of spontaneity to the portrait plans. Instead of resisting it, we leaned into the flexibility the city demands — moving thoughtfully through downtown, pausing along the river and near the Wabash Avenue Bridge whenever the rain softened. The shifting weather created depth and texture, turning fleeting breaks in the clouds into cinematic portrait moments.
As evening approached, the rooftop terrace overlooking the skyline became one of the most memorable parts of the day. The fresh air, city lights, and layered architecture surrounding them created a setting that felt both intimate and expansive — a perfect reflection of their relationship.
