Photographing pregnancy is always a special feeling. it is a truly special moment for mom and dad and the whole family. It’s is crucial for me to come up with a new and different concept every time I have this type of session. After Enisa and I talked over the phone and agreed on basic things regarding her session, it was time to meet and talk details. During our meeting I realized she is a huge pinterest person, and that instantly meant that she will have a tone of ideas. I had a feeling that after we talked that she has done half of my planning for me. She had poses figured out, she had props figured out, basically everything. This presented even bigger challenge to add my personal touch to these photographs, and I figured the only way to do it is to make them dramatic and and make them more dimensional.
At the day of the shoot I planned two types of session. First we started off at the park using just available light, capturing natural light portraits and family moments of her, her husband Al and their beautiful daughter Safiya. The second part of the session I decided to use location in LaBaugh Woods in Lincolnwood area of Chicago. I decided to use strobe lights for this one as my goal was to make them look more dramatic and tri-dimensional. Please see the results of the session below.
