Few weeks ago I have received a phone call from client’s best friend who wanted to photograph his BMW M3. As it was a request I haven’t had before I thought this care must be something special. This was a type of shoot I have never done before, so I was very happy to accept the challenge. The minute I hang up my phone, ideas started coming to me on how I could do this. I knew I wanted edgy look to these photographs with a real drama and a lot of darkness. This meant two things, a needed a great location for this and I had to use the artificial lighting on the car. No to photograph such a big object I needed a big light source I didn’t have so I dared to work with what I had, my 4 flashes and natural light during the day.
Location we choose was a Goose Island in Chicago. It’s an industrial area located near Division and Halsted streets. This is what I thought a perfect place for this type of shoot.
