Royal Sonesta Wedding venue is one of my favorite venues in the city. So much so that I have a dedicated page on my website for this wedding venue! A truly spectacular place for an amazing and unique wedding in Chicago your guests will rave about for years to come. This time it was Erin and Dan’s day to get married. We started working together about a year out, and I truly enjoyed every single minute of capturing their engagement session and entire wedding day. We started at Royal Sonesta, with Erin and Dan both getting ready there. After a fund morning, making sure they do not run into each other, we made it to their ceremony that was held at St Petes in Chicago, which meant I can’t photograph their ceremony due to tight restrictions on photographers in this Church. So I sat and observed the ceremony as a guest, and I got to tell you, felt extremely weird.
It was a very rainy day, so we chose to get photos at the Museum Campus before it started pouring, and we had to get back to Royal Sonesta. In the mean time the rain decided to give us a 10 minute brake. If you give me 10 minutes, I do everything to use it wisely, so we stopped by Wabash Street bridge, and Trump Tower for some photos before their ceremony begun.
Royal Sonesta’s Rooftop terrace is one of the most amazing in the city. I have photographed so many amazing weddings and creative sessions here, and love coming back. It’s a must for me. I never leave the wedding before I get few portraits on their terrace. Views of the city are breathtaking, and Chicago is a perfect canvas for amazing wedding photography.
