Elegant and Romantic Wedding at Mission Hills in Northbrook
Today we will explore a beautiful snowy Wedding at Mission Hills Club in Northbrook. It was a true celebration of Megan’s and James’ love, and the wedding venue they chose was a perfect fit for winter themed wedding. First time we met, Megan told me that a winter theme was very important to her. She wanted snow incorporated in her wedding and wedding photography, and a few days short of her wedding, everything was ready… except that we had no snow!
Chicago really did not get much snow this year, and this made us nervous that we actually may have a snowless winter wedding. During our last call before their wedding, we accepted the fact that most likely we will have to look into a backup plan for the photography locations for their wedding. But, just a day before their wedding, we get the biggest snowfall of the year.
A Secret Love… so no one gets fired!
Megan and James met while working together… for his father! They decided to keep their relationship a secret, so no one would lose the job! But it was not all roses in the beginning. Megan and James’ did not like each other much at work! Still, one day Megan decided to ask James to watch her dog Roush! At this point James fell in love… with the dog! From this point on, with the help of now, their dog Roush, their relationship grew until they became inseparable.
After a few years of dating, James decided to propose on a Christmas day! It was the first Christmas Day ever that Megan spent away from her family, and James sure made sure it counts.
Very Special First Look
First looks are not uncommon, brides and grooms do it all the time. It’s not even that uncommon for the bride and father of the bride to do the first look, we do it all the time. Just like with most of the things on her wedding day, Megan added a little twist to this moment. Her dad had no idea they will be doing first look. So while one of our photographers took images of her mom and dad, Megan sneaked up behind him and asked him to turn. Expression on his face, and his surprise were priceless!
Mission Hills Club Wedding Venue
If you are having your wedding at Mission Hills, you will be conveniently located in easily accessible area of Northbrook! As soon as you drive in, you get the feel of luxury, and excellence. If you’re looking to have an outside ceremony, but with a backup of indoor options in case of bad weather, this is the perfect place.
With a beautiful landscaping, gazebo, bridge, trees, shrubbery, and if you want all this being just yours for the event without sharing the space with another celebration, Mission Hills is your place! There are so many perks I could mention, but I can’t forget the Bridal Suite! Too often we are cramped in a small hotel rooms, sharing it with anywhere between 5-10 bridesmaids + family. At Mission Hills, the size of the bridal suite was amazing, and could easily fit 3 times the average bridal party. Add a Golf Themed Groomsman suite with a full size bar to this, it really becomes a place that is hard to beat.
Wise Words from the Bride
While planning here wedding at Mission Hills, Megan was very organized, had a clear vision of what she wanted! She had no wedding planner, and quite frankly with her organizational skills, she did not need one. But she offered a piece of advice to all the brides and grooms currently working on their wedding. “Take a minute to slow down and enjoy details and things you worked on while planning your wedding. More importantly, plan on having another dress for the reception. Not with an intention of makingĀ another flashy entrance, but rather to be more comfortable and enjoy the evening so you can dance the night away. Wedding dresses are a lot of work”. During the reception Megan and the bridesmaids changed into their bridal outfits for more comfort and it was a such a refresher to see!
